Victim Dragged 25 Feet Attempting to Stop Hit and Run Suspect
GOFFSTOWN - A New Hampshire man now faces felony charges for hitting a person and fleeing the scene.
Matthew Johnston, 52, of Manchester, was arrested and charged felony conduct after an accident and aggravated driving while intoxicated on Friday.
Goffstown Police responded to a pedestrian hit and run car accident in the parking lot of the WaToy Restaurant on 611 Mast Rd.
Police found a conscious male victim laying on the ground as a result of being hit by a car attempting to leave the scene of an accident.
The suspect, later identified as Johnston, allegedly backed into the victim's vehicle.
The victim then tried to get Johnston's car to stop, he was dragged an estimated 25 feet before he fell off the vehicle and onto the ground.
The victim was transported to the hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.
Johnston is being held on $15,000 cash bail and will be arraigned in Hillsborough County Superior Court North on Monday.
