SWAT Team Drug Bust Nets 3 Arrests in Manchester
MANCHESTER — The Manchester Police Department Special Enforcement Division along with SWAT team members executed a search warrant at a Central Street apartment Monday morning as a result of an ongoing drug investigation.
Months ago, police said, they received a tip that the resident at 267 Central St. was selling crack cocaine from his first floor apartment.
Once inside, officials found 123 grams of crack cocaine, packaging material and close to $1,000 in U.S. currency, police said. James Ballam, 39, was arrested and charged with one count possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute, one count sale of a controlled drug and one count possession of a controlled drug.
Steven Campbell, 53, was also arrested for drug possession after police found 0.5 grams of crack cocaine on him.
Jessica Ballam, 18, was charged with resisting arrest/detention after entering the apartment while detectives were conducting their search. She was told to leave but instead began yelling profanities at the officers, police said.
All three were brought to the police station and there is no word yet on when they will appear in court.
