PELHAM — Spring can't come soon enough in Pelham, where an ax-wielding man allegedly attacked his neighbor who he thought was plowing snow onto his property during Wednesday's storm.
Pelham police captain Stephen Toom said Thursday what began as a dispute over snowplowing Wednesday ended up in an altercation.
Toom said Issam Mousa, 54, was plowing snow at his home at about 4:15 p.m. when his neighbor, Eric Chojnacki, 57, approached his truck carrying an ax. Toom said Chojnacki believed that Mousa was plowing snow onto his property when he began striking the driver's side window of the truck with the ax in a threatening manner.
Mousa got out of the pickup truck and the two began fighting. Both men were arrested.
Chojnacki was placed under arrest and charged with a felony level criminal threatening with a deadly weapon. Chojnacki was released on $2,500 personal recognizance bail, and is scheduled to be arraigned at 1 p.m. Feb. 22 at the Hillsborough County Superior Court South in Nashua.
Mousa was charged with class B misdemeanor simple assault. Mousa was released on a summons with an arraignment date of March 5.
