Police: NH Woman Arrested for DWI After Hitting Utility Pole, Flipping Mercedes
HUDSON — A Litchfield woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries after flipping her Mercedes-Benz while allegedly driving intoxicated Friday.
Hudson police said around 10:37 p.m. they responded to Barretts Hill Road for a single-vehicle rollover.
Police discovered that a 2013 Mercedes-Benz C300, driven by Catherine Locapo, 41 of Litchfield, had left the roadway and crashed into a utility pole, causing it to break. The car then hit a tree, flipped onto its roof and came to a stop in the middle of Barretts Hill Road.
Police said Locapo was not wearing a seatbelt and suffered non-life threatening injuries. She was transported to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center by the Hudson Fire Department.
The roadway was shut down for several hours while crews repaired the pole and Locapo's car had to be towed from the scene with heavy damage.
Police said the crash is still under investigation, but Locapo was arrested and charged with her second driving while intoxicated offense. She is scheduled to appear in court on November 2, 2017.
