Massachusetts Felon With String of Violent Attacks Facing Over 100 Indictments in NH
MANCHESTER — Attempted murder, witness tampering and sex assault are just some of the crimes a grand jury has indicted a Massachusetts felon with committing in New Hampshire over the last year, according to documents released this week by Hillsborough County Superior Court North.
Brandon Griffin, 30, of 285 Concord St., Apt. 7, was handed more than 100 indictments this week that covered a list of charges from an alleged long-running crime spree in Manchester in 2016 and 2017, some committed in concert with others he used as muscle.
"That many is a rarity," Hillsborough County Attorney Dennis Hogan said Thursday.
The list covers a slew of gun attacks on seven Manchester apartment buildings over several weeks in 2016, as well as aggravated felonious sexual assault and witness tampering.
Hogan offered no other details about Griffin's activities. "The indictments speak for themselves," he said.
The long list of documents describes how Griffin, who had a previous conviction on felony drug charges in Massachusetts, assaulted a person referred to as T.C. sometime between Jan. 24 and 28, 2016 by cutting them with a sharp object.
At some point between April 30 and May 1, 2016, he conspired with a man named Kelvin Reddick to have Reddick shoot at an apartment building at 271-273 Cedar St. in Manchester with a gun that Griffin gave him. This led to reckless conduct, weapons possession, assault and conspiracy charges.
Hogan said the incident was not related to the alleged assault by Griffin in January of that year, but the indictments cover a long list of shootings that occurred over the spring and summer to come that Manchester police worked to solve.
In May, Griffin was accused of soliciting the help of another man, John Gebo, to kill "a person known to the Manchester Police Apartment." Authorities say Gebo pulled a gun on the person but no homicide was committed. The act led to a conspiracy to commit second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder as well as another firearms possession charge based on his Massachusetts conviction.
Also that month, Griffin struck a person known in the documents as J.G. with a firearm.
Reddick and Gebo have a long history with local police. Both men have been arrested on various charges, including those involving drugs and guns, and have been involved in incidents covered by this month’s indictments of Griffin.
Another apartment shooting, this time around May 13 and May 14, 2016, at 21 Dubuque St., brought firearms possession, reckless conduct and conspiracy charges.
About two days later and over multiple days, Griffin allegedly told Gebo to again shoot up the same Cedar Street apartment building. That also led to solicitation, assault, possession and reckless conduct charges.
Yet again, between May 18 and May 19, 2016, authorities say he provided a gun, and instructions, for either Reddick or Gebo to go back and shoot at 21 Dubuque St. Another series of charges similar to the ones handed down from the previous shootings were given.
Between May 21 and May 22, 2016, he and Gebo targeted 395 Lake Ave. On May 22 and May 23, 2016, the pair shot at 18 Auclair Ave. This led to more conspiracy, solicitation, reckless conduct and possession charges seen in this week’s collection of indictment documents.
He and Gebo also are alleged to have targeted 20 Auclair Ave. around the same time, bringing identical charges. The Lake Avenue location became a target again around May 23, 2016. Lake Avenue, as well as the Cedar Street apartment, were again targets for gunfire sometime between May 23 and May 24, 2016.
Griffin is alleged to have worked with Reddick again at the end of May, giving him a gun for a shooting at 253 Spruce St. sometime around May 29 and May 30, 2016. Griffin also was charged with again giving Gebo a gun around June 1, 2016, and telling him to shoot a person identified as H.O. Gebo did fire the gun, and another person identified as A.T. was hit by a bullet.
About a week later, Griffin provided a firearm and told Gebo to shoot at 91 West St. All of those incidents brought the same set of charges.
The indictments also covered crimes covered in 2017. Griffin faces several sexual assault charges, beginning with alleged aggravated felonious sexual assault. He is alleged to have forced oral sex on a woman sometime between Feb. 3 and the end of May 2017.
Another sex assault allegedly occurred later in May. Around mid-June, he is alleged to have asked a person identified as B.J. to locate the woman he's accused of sexually assaulting and convince her to recant her allegations in a signed document. This led to several witness tampering charges.
Griffin is currently in jail and awaiting trial on drug charges.
