Man Drove Drunk and Crashed Into Tree With 3 Kids in Car, Police Say
WAKEFIELD — A man who crashed a car with three children inside is accused of drinking and driving.
Late Friday night, police received a call involving a single car crash on Willey Road.
The Wakefield Fire Department responded, along with an ambulance from the Milton fire department. On scene, it crews found a car went off the road and struck a tree. An adult male and three children were inside of the car and the Wakefield Fire Department were able to free the occupants of the vehicle.
All subjects were transported to a hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Christopher Richardson, 34, of Wakefield. All three children were younger than 14. Police arrested Richardson for felony aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, reckless operation, endangering the welfare of a child, transportation of an alcoholic beverage and operating after suspension.
Richardson’s relationship to the children is unknown.
Police said no further information would be immediately released about the crash.
