Intoxicated Mom Had Kids in Car When She Kicked a Cop, Police Say
DOVER — Police arrested a Massachusetts woman who had her two 8-year-old children in her car on charges of driving while intoxicated.
On Tuesday, at 6:58 p.m. police received a complaint about a possible impaired driver.
An officer found the vehicle and identified the driver as Cheryl S. Robinson, 39, of 18 Linden St., Rockland, Massachusetts. After a field sobriety test, the officer determined that Robinson was impaired and not fit to drive, police said.
She struggled with the arresting officers, kicking one of them in the leg. That officer did not receive any injuries.
At the time, Robinson had two children with her. Those children were released into the custody of a relative.
Police charged Robinson with aggravated driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest and simple assault. She was released on $2,500 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Dover district court on Jan. 29.
