If You Don't Want to Get Caught, Getting Recognizable Tattoos Is a Bad Idea
MANCHESTER — Police said a man's distinct tattoos led to his identification and arrest in a stolen firearms investigation.
The Gang Prevention Unit found David Hamilton, 19, of 225 Walnut St. No. 1, on Wednesday and arrested him on a warrant for felony receiving stolen property.
The joint investigation with Manchester police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives began after a burglary and theft from Wicked Weaponry Firearms in February 2016. New images developed from surveillance at the time of the break-in and theft showed a man with tattoos holding one of the stolen firearms, authorities said.
An officer with the Gang Prevention Unit recognized the tattoos as the same ones Hamilton has on his body, police said, and a warrant was issued.
Hamilton is on federal probation pretrial release and is being held at the Valley Street jail pending his arraignment.
