Coast Guard helps fisherman who needed medical help 145 miles east of Cape Cod
BOSTON – The U.S Coast Guard was called 145 miles off the coast of Cape Cod to treat a fisherman in need of medical attention.
According to the First District command center, the captain of Little Tootie a 78-foot vessel called into the station around 7:30 p.m to request help.
One of the crewmembers aboard the ship was reportedly having respiratory troubles.
The U.S Coast Guard says they sent a Jayhawk helicopter which arrived at the boat's location around 10:30 p.m.
The 44-year-old fisherman was flown to the Air Station on Cape Cod before being transported to Falmouth Hospital.
