Coast Guard crews rescue 2 kayakers who drifted out to sea in MA
BOSTON — Coast Guard crews rescue two kayakers who drifted out to sea off the coast of Massachusetts.
Responders said a 12-year-old boy and an adult relative were rescued about 400-yards from the shore of East Sandwich Beach.
Crews launched a 45-foot rescue boat after the mother of the boy called 911 from shore.
Coast Guard officials said the boat crew deployed from Station Cape Cod Canal around 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
The crew pulled both kayakers and their kayaks aboard the rescue boat and brought them back to the station where emergency medical services personnel evaluated them.
Neither kayaker reported injuries.
