California woman carried down NH mountain after injuring ankle
HOLDERNESS — An injured hiker had to be carried off West Rattlesnake Mountain Wednesday after slipping and injuring her ankle.
N.H. Fish and Game said around 3 p.m. they received a report of an injured hiker at the top of the mountain.
They said Yongjin Yao, 57 from Santa Clara, California, was hiking with a group of friends and attempting to climb a ledge when she slipped and injured her ankle.
Officials said she was unable to put weight on it, so her friends called 911 for assistance.
Holderness Fire Rescue, Center Harbor Fire Rescue, Plymouth EMS and N.H. Fish and Game responded to help carry Yao to the trailhead parking lot, where an ambulance was waiting to transport her to Speare Memorial Hospital.
