The Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire needs help identifying a dog found in the woods in Merrimack.
The ARL wrote on its Facebook page that a hiker found the injured German shepherd they have been calling George in the woods.
"We'd like to thank the man that did not turn a blind eye to a dog in trouble," the shelter wrote on its page. "Yesterday, this Good Samaritan was hiking in the woods of Merrimack when he came across an injured German Shepherd. He brought him to us, the Animal Rescue League, for help."
The ARL says George is an adult, un-neutered male shepherd with no collars, tags or microchip. He had "horrific" cuts and wounds on him, and they sought immediate treatment at Ponemah Veterinary Hospital.
The ARL is asking for donations to help cover the cost of George's care at this time. Donations can be made here.
The ARL said it is not taking adoption inquiries for George at this time.
