2 plead guilty to using counterfeit credit cards in multiple NH stores
CONCORD — Latavia Hassan, 33 of Mastic, NY, and Chantel Lightner, 26, of Wyandanch, New York, both pleaded guilty Wednesday to conspiring to use counterfeit credit cards, Acting U.S. Attorney General John Farley said.
The two admitted they used counterfeit cards 24 different times to illegally buy gift cards and items from TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and Home Goods stores in various NH towns April 16.
They illegally acquired merchandise totaling more than $18,000 in worth.
Concord police officers recovered the counterfeit cards and stolen items after Hassan and Lightner attempted to buy more things from a Concord store.
Hassan and Lightner will be sentenced on Sept. 14.
