Summer Kicks Off In Style! Can It Last Through The Weekend?
Happy Summer everybody! it's been a long road to get here so let's make the best of it! A cold front is pushing through this morning. A mix of sun and clouds can be expected, especially during the morning hours. Clouds may build enough for a stray mid-day shower. Otherwise, skies will be turning sunny for the afternoon with highs in the 70's inland. A cooler breeze will develop this afternoon keeping it cooler at the coast. Tonight will be clear, crisp and calm with lows in the 40's and lower 50's. Plenty of sunshine in place for Friday with highs nearing 80 inland, but a sea breeze will keep it closer to 70 at the beach.
Conditions will start to go downhill unfortunately for the first day of summer. Saturday will get off off to a dry start, but skies will be turning mostly cloudy. A cool onshore wind will be in place. Temperatures will hold tight in the 60's all day, and even cooler at the coast where temps will be near 60-62. Not exactly the beach weather we are looking for! A wave of low pressure will arrive by the end of the day. This will come with some late day showers Saturday which will last into Saturday night. The rain will be gone by Sunday morning, but the clouds will linger in a more humid feel to the air. Southwest winds will bring in milder air into the 70's. The combination of warmth and humidity ahead of an approaching cold front will mean we can expect scattered afternoon thunderstorms Sunday. Unfortunately, a bit of an unsettled weekend. More nice weather returns next week!
