NH1 First Alert Weather: Cooler Thanksgiving, Nice Weather Pattern
Thanksgiving morning will have beautiful sunshine with a crisp cool feel. Dress warm for any Thanksgiving Day football games as temps will struggle to get to 32 by 10 a.m. The sunshine will last into the early afternoon with high temperatures climbing into the 30s and lower 40s with a breeze from the northwest. Watch for some high- to mid-level clouds to increase Thursday afternoon as skies will suddenly turn partly cloudy for the second half of the day. Overall, a wonderful day of weather, festivity, family and football. A great American tradition.
By Friday, there will be some slight moderation to the airmass under a building ridge of high pressure. After a few early morning clouds, mostly sunny skies can be expected most of the day with highs climbing back into the mid 40s by afternoon, maybe even a few upper 40s at the Seacoast. The warming southwest flow will continue Saturday with even warmer air funneling into New England. Sunny to partly sunny skies on Saturday with highs in the lower to mid 50s. It's perfect weather for this time of year, considering the weather that can happen in the month of November as we well know. A cold front will push through Saturday night and early Sunday. This could come with a few snow showers in the mountains. Once this front is through, breezy northwest winds will follow in for Sunday, delivering a cold blow of air. On Sunday, there will be a mix of sun and clouds with highs back to near 40.
The cold will hold into Monday with the fair weather pattern holding steady with a fairly flat flow and benign pattern to the jetstream. Highs will again be in the 30s to near 40. Temperatures will warm into the 40s Tuesday, and maybe again into the 50s by next Wednesday ahead of an approaching front that may or may not provide a few showers. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
