If You're Going to Listen to Live Music, It Better Be at One of These NH Spots

With the return of warmer weather, people will be going out and doing things more often after hibernating through the winter.

One of the more stimulating activities for your mind and body is to take in a concert or see live music at a smaller venue like a music hall or even a bar or restaurant.

Here are the 10 best places to see a show in New Hampshire, according to Bestthingsnh.com:

The Tupelo Music hall, Derry

Formerly located in Londonderry, the Tupelo is now bigger and better than ever. It's known for booking some impressive national acts and is a must visit spot

The Shaskeen Pub, Manchester

Not only is the Shaskeen a great Irish pub with a great menu and fantastic beer selections, its website has a list of the diverse acts it has in its sprawling back room

The Flying Monkey, Plymouth

This is an old movie theater that was restored in 2010 and has become a staple for the community in Plymouth. Amenities include a full menu and bar with activities ranging from movies, children’s events, comedy acts and of course musical acts, including the likes of Three Dog Night and many others.

The Stone Church, Newmarket

Built 136 years ago, the history of the building is obvious. They have live music seven nights a week with varying musical styles, so you are sure to find something for everyone.

Fody’s Tavern, Nashua

You’ll find Fody’s in one of the oldest brick buildings in the Gate City. Their menu consists of scratch made pub fare along with craft cocktails. There's music almost every night. Mondays are industry nights with some great deals on adult beverages!

Strange Brew Tavern, Manchester

This is a favorite spot for live music and great food. They have a massive selection of beer on tap. It’s a very intimate spot to take in live music most Tuesday through Sunday nights. It's a can’t miss spot!

The Flying Goose Brew Pub and Grille, New London

There's lots of great performers at this spot but check the website as some shows require reservations. Also, keep this spot in mind in the winter because of it’s proximity to ski resorts.

Pitman’s Freight Room – Laconia

If you find yourself in the Lakes region, you must make a stop here! It’s in an actual former freight depot hosting some great acts. It’s BYOB at Pitman’s so plan on that. If you are headed to Motorcycle Week this year, you may want to check the website for upcoming shows.

Jewel Music Venue – Manchester

Jewel features a variety of local and national acts leaning more toward rock and heavy metal, but they do sprinkle other types in here and there. The shows are usually 21 plus but occasionally Jewel will have an 18 plus show.

Harlow’s Pub and Restaurant – Peterborough

They have themed nights at Harlow’s including Celtic, bluegrass and an open mic night. You’ll find other acts there as well as a great menu. So go out and have some fun, great food and of course enjoy some live entertainment!
