Not everyone gets spotted by an agent and propelled to stardom right away. Sometimes it takes years of hard work and soul crushing disappointment to make it in La-La Land.
Here are five A-list actors that got their start as extras before they became famous.
Sly had an uncredited part as a subway mugger in Woody Allen’s 1971 film “Bananas."
Brad was billed as partygoer/preppy guy in a fight in 1987s “Less than Zero.”
Clint was a member of Central Casting in the '50s and was used as an uncredited extra in several films before graduating to leading man status.
John goes way way back to the '20s where he started out in several silent films before his big break in the 1930 film “The Big Trail.”
Ben Affleck & Matt Damon
They come as a set! Although you may not be able to spot them in this clip, they performed as extras in the Fenway Park scenes in 1989’s “Field of Dreams.”
They also appeared together in "School Ties" (1992) and "Glory Days" (1995) before becoming recognizable in 1997's "Good Will Hunting," which won them both Oscars.
